FIRE Visiting Fellow Programme

FIRE fellowships are 1–2-month research visits to the Finnish Infrastructure for Register-Based Research (FIRE), offering fellows the opportunity to collaborate with our researchers.
FIRE Fellowship Programme 2027 Call is open 16.9.–15.10.2026.
Fellowships are primarily targeted to researchers from post-doctoral studies onwards who want to visit the infrastructure. Before applying, please email the FIRE PI or Co-PI (listed below and in the application form) who would host you to agree with them that you are applying to join their team.

What is included?
FIRE will cover:
- the travel expenses of the visiting researcher (one return ticket),
- a 500 €/month fee, and
- FIRE arranges accommodation for the visitor.
Any additional costs need to be agreed with the PI hosting the visit.
The visiting researcher is expected to contribute 4 hours of presentations and/or teaching for each month of their visit. The content and format of these activities will be agreed upon with the host.
FIRE welcomes applications from all countries. The preferred time of the visit is year 2027.
